In today’s rapidly evolving health care system, plan sponsors are challenged with containing or lowering ever-escalating drug costs, while providing effective pharmaceutical treatment for members and their families. Specialty medications are the fastest growing segment of pharmaceutical costs. While only a small percentage of patients overall will be faced with managing a chronic condition, a large percentage of drug spending is attributed to this small group. Prosperity Specialty Pharmacy is dedicated to helping lower drug costs though our comprehensive pharmacy services, while striving to optimize patient medication usage for better outcomes. We offer unique patient services, education, and disease management programs that provide value for patients, physicians, and payors to help achieve positive outcomes.
As a founding member of Community Pharmacy Specialty Network (CSPN), our pharmacy is part of a nationwide network of community-based specialty pharmacies that provides a unique distribution channel which allows immediate availability of critically required specialty medications. Our comprehensive approach in managing our patients’ multiple disease states improves their outcomes, resulting in the reduction of costs over the term of their illness.
Cost Savings
Our focus on complete patient care means that patients receive the most effective and affordable medications while we ensure appropriate utilization, manage drug costs, eliminate waste and decrease related medical expenses. We have the ability to scale our services based on disease state to enable plan sponsors to provide their members the appropriate level of support in order to maximize their therapy and at the same time control the costs associated with specialty medications. We align our interests with the interests of our payor partners, and we make every effort to give them the best value while serving the needs of the patient.

Patient Assistance Programs
When you get your specialty medications from Prosperity Specialty Pharmacy, we do a complete benefits investigation to determine what your insurance covers and what your patient responsibility is. Oftentimes, the high costs of these medications can mean that you have excessive out-of-pocket expenses or the drug is not covered at all. We can help by finding resource programs, such as Patient Assistance Programs (PAPs) of Copay Assistance Programs, that were established to help patients afford medication. As patient advocates, we frequently assist patients who are unable to afford their medications in finding alternate funding.
What are patient assistance programs?
Patient assistance programs are programs set up by drug companies that offer free or low cost drugs to individuals who are unable to pay for their medication. All of the major drug companies have patient assistance programs, and offer these programs voluntarily; the government does not require them to provide free medicine.
What are programs that assist with medication co-pays?
Some organizations offer to help insured patients that are having difficulty paying the co-pays for their medications or their insurance. These programs are for very specific diseases or medications and are primarily dedicated to subsidizing the high cost of health insurance premiums and pharmacy co-payments for persons with specific chronic illnesses and rare disorders. Families requiring assistance in maintaining the high cost of their health insurance premiums or co-payments are offered assistance based upon the severity of medical and financial need. They offer a “safety net” for persons who have expensive chronic illnesses and for those persons who fall through the financial assistance cracks.
