Community Pharmacy Residency Program (PGY1)
Located in Fairfax, VA, Prosperity Specialty Pharmacy offers a range of opportunities for pharmacists who are interested in expanding upon their practice experiences. Injection training, vaccinations, medication therapy management, and compounding are just a few of the patient care services focused on during this PGY1 residency program. The pharmacy also specializes in dispensing medications for complicated therapies such as oral oncology agents, medications for HIV/AIDS, and Hepatitis C treatment.
Highly motivated residents will work closely with the Clinical Pharmacy Specialist and the management team to execute and expand the Company’s clinical services. Collaborations with healthcare teams and health-focused nonprofit organizations, and the development of experiential learning initiatives designed for in-house pharmacists, student pharmacists, and pharmacy technicians makes this residency program both robust and fulfilling.
This residency is affiliated with the Bernard J. Dunn School of Pharmacy, Shenandoah University, allowing for participation with other affiliated residency programs, journal clubs, residency discussion forums, faculty appointment, residency trips, and opportunities to participate in many other School of Pharmacy-based activities. A teaching certificate program is also offered.
Minimum requirements for aptitude include: Pharm.D. degree and eligibility for licensure in Virginia. Interested persons should submit a completed employment application, letter of intent, CV, pharmacy school transcripts, and forward three letters of reference (one letter from a faculty member and one letter from a patient care rotation) to:
